Swing Arcus 6 intermediate paraglider

Swing Arcus 6 intermediate paraglider

Following much research and 14 prototypes, designer Michael Hartmann and the Swing team are very pleased with the finished Arcus 6.

It has been completely redesigned since the previous reincarnation, and the team are happy that they have succeeded in improving stability and handling, increasing trim speed and making the stall point easily recognisable. Swing say, “What we have created is a glider with a new profile, a modern and aesthetically pleasing outline with greater aspect ratio, less sail tension and oval air entrances. It is finished off with a fresh and snappy design, all of which makes the extremely smooth canopy of the new Arcus 6 a work of art”.

Swing say that unaccelerated, the glider fits the rquirements for LTF 1 rating, and accelerated, 1-2. The models are undergoing certification presently, and sizes 22, 24, 26. 28 and 30 will be certified in that order, starting the beginning of January and with completion of the 30 expected by the beginning of Februry.

Advance Epsilon 6 intermediate paraglider

Advance Epsilon 6 intermediate paraglider

Advance’s new basic intermediate wing, the Epsilon 6, will arrive on the market in February 2009.

To be marketed under the slogan “Explore new Skies”, Advance say the new Epsilon is aimed at the thermally-orientated intermediate pilot who, above all, wants to climb, climb, and climb again – as high as possible, and then maybe fly away from his local area. Due to its high passive safety Advance say the wing is even suitable for talented beginners.

Under the leadership of Thomas Ripplinger, the development team has concentrated on handling, the wing turning under light brake application and the pilot getting precise feedback through the brake lines. The wings also features a big ears system with Quick Snap as well as a two stage speed system with Speed-Performance-Indicator (SPI).

The certification tests for 26 and 28 sizes are already completed. The glider comes with EN certification and is graded LTF 1-2. It will be available in 5 colours and 4 sizes, and from the end of February you will be able to reserve test wings for trial flights at Advance test centres and dealers.
