While the account by Mark of the FAI General Conference was amusing, I would like to counter his statement that I have changed my sex. Described as FAI medical doctor I am actually the President of the FAI Medical Commission (CIMP). I would assure Mark that CIMP has done their best to preserve his wish to have a few drinks after flying and not be in breach of the regulations the next day. On a technical point, the aviation law in the UK on alcohol is not the road law but the more stringent transport law which has a limit of 20 mg/%. While the courts have not yet decided if this applies to solo hang gliding, it would certainly apply to an instructor in a dual hang glider. Regards, Peter Saundby.
