Just a quick reply to this, Tom, I'll do something a bit more later.

The subject was discussed amongst the UK Comps Panel when it became clear that Bruce wouldn't qualify under the new rules as he's not flying many comps now.

Adrian Thomas approaced him in St Andre to get his views so that we could discuss a 'work round' - such as modifying the rules to give any current World Champions a place regardless of WPRS points. In the end Bruce said he was not really bothered about going to the Worlds anyway for various personal reasons so the situation rectified itself with no further input from us.

As simple, and boring, as that, I'm afraid.

Cheers, Mark

Mark,

Please could you do a blog on the absence of the current world champion from the British Team? Is Bruce is available, fit and currently on form? If so, the selection criteria must allow for the best pilots to be selected to give the team the greatest chance to win. I remember Hofer's exclusion at a previous Championship which really lowered the caliber of the event. Best of luck, regardless.

Cheers
