In a similar vein to the “green” Coupe Icare that takes place at St Hilaire du Touvet, France, at the end of summer every year, for the second year running there is now also a “white” one: This winter version is a speed riding competition incorporating a fancy dress leg, and a winter free flying film festival.
This year’s event took place over the weekend of 31 January and 1 February. Organised by the Parateam, the club responsible for the Wagas festival at Dune de Pyla and the events on the South take off at the main Coupe Icare, the event was a great success.
Winner of the slalom event was Cyril Planton, with Mickael Régnier winning the duals and Guillaume Chatain literally kayaking down the piste to win the fancy dress. The overall winner had to score well in all three, and the prize was awarded to David Merisio. Sabine Duviver won the female event.
