Organised by the paragliding club at the infamous St Hilaire, France, the Transalpine Odyssey is a journey by paraglider from St Hilaire (near Grenoble) to the coast. It is a team event, with the emphasis on fun and safety, and is run more in the vein of a standard paragliding comp than a vol-biv event, with daily stages of about 40 km between a defined take off and goal. Weather forecasts are provided, and retrieves in case of out-landings. The organisers will put you into a suitable team based on the information you provide on your application form, if you apply as an individual.
