Airbike update

AirbikeUK is moving to new  larger premises just downwind of Woolacombe in late May, so owner Rupert Sweet-Escott invites interested parties to pop in and have a go! It`s possible to land and take off there from its tiny  East -West strip.

Following several comments from interested readers he’d also like to clarify that you cannot take off from flat ground by pedal power alone, you still need an engine to do this, and it is also not possible to climb with pedal power … at the moment. What Airbikes can do, however, is significantly increase the performance of your foot launched glider. The versatile unit is available in prone or supine format in three types: The pedal Airbike, for the purist pilot who want minimum hassle; The hybrid Airbike, pedal and motor, for pilots who don`t want to drive up a mountain or tow launch site, but want the increased performance offered through pedal power; and the Pure Power Airbike, for pilots who just want to get up there!

The website, www.airbikeuk.co.uk, is new and still being worked on. Rupert says there will be videos out soon and more pics and he’s just added some FAQs.
