Nova has a new lightweight wing in the offing: The Oryx, (certification ongoing for LTF 1-2, EN B), is based on the Mentor but using lighter fabrics, a slightly altered profile, thinner lines and different risers. The topsail is made from strong and long-lasting 40 g / m2 Porcher fabric, with the very lightweight 27 g/m2 fabric used for the bottom sail.
With performance the same or possibly even better than the Mentor (thanks to the thinner lines), its 25 % lower weight has also improved its handling (easier launch, gentler reopening after collapses and more agile and dynamic than the Mentor).
The Oryx comes with the 1 Year Nova Protect warranty, with 3 years on fabric and workmanship. Demand has been so great that sales have by far outweighed their factory’s capacity, so delivery of new orders will not be before late summer. Nova kindly ask customers for their understanding and patience.
