The setting for this year’s HG Worlds, Laragne in the Hautes-Alpes, France, is also the playground of choice for a new, Dutch-run HG competition for sport class hang gliders. The philosophy of the Sport Class Open is that it should be a competition with safe, achievable tasks for kingpost gliders, with an emphasis on learning. Top pilots will be invited to discuss tasks, give de-briefings and lectures about cross country and competition issues.
The Laragne Monteglin campsite will be the comp HQ, and the event will take place over 26 July – 1 August, with registration on 25 July, the entry fee will be 100 Euros.
