World Air Games
The FAI World Air Games, the biggest air sports event in the world, is about to open in Turin, on 6 June. For a week until 14 June the exciting and often adrenaline-filled world of air sports will be showcased. The ten sports represented are aerobatics, aeromodelling, ballooning, experimental aircraft, gliding, hang gliding, helicopter flying, microlighting, parachuting and paragliding.
Complementary activities include the “Try flying” flight simulation exhibition, display of the winning pictures in the FAI’s Young Artists ‘Best of the Best’ contest. Two microlight aircraft will be constructed during the period of the Games and flown during the closing ceremony, on the piazza San Carlo in downtown Turin. Other cultural highlights include concerts and cinema reviews with aviation themes.
