British / Dutch Opens Piedrahita
Four tasks were flown in the joint British and Dutch Open events, held in Piedrahita from 28 June – 4 July. Brazilian Olympio Faissol (UP Edge) won the Open event, ahead of GB’s Chris Harland (Mac Magus 6) and Lee Garcia-Davies of Spain (Sol Tracer). Australian Antje Daehler (Niviuk Peak) was the first woman.
In the two nations’ competitions, the Dutch trophy was lifted by Hugo Robben (Mac Magus 6), with Joost Vischedijk (UP Edge) and Ruud Vanderheijden (Ozone Mantra 3) joining him on the podium, and Suzanne Heeres (Airwave Sport 3) their top woman.
Adrian Thomas (Airwave Magic FR4) was top British Championship pilot, ahead of Neil Roberts and John Ellison, both flying Niviuk Icepeak XPs. Kirsty Cameron (Skywalk Poison 2) was first British woman.
