On Wednesday 19 August, eleven French pilots had a day to remember when they top-landed on the summit of Mt Blanc, the highest point in Europe at 4810m.

The happy pilots included Caroline Brille, the first woman to have achieved this, and Olivier Laugero and his passenger who were the first tandem team.

This is only the second time in history that the peak has been top-landed and is almost exactly six years to the day that it was first achieved on 13 August 2003, during the big heatwave. Slightly jealous congratulations to all!
