Womens Hang Gliding Festival
Following on from last year’s successful event, the Lookout Mountain Flight Park in Tennessee, USA are again hosting a womens hang gliding festival, which will be from 24 – 27 September 2009.
Organisers say “September is a beautiful time to fly. We generally have a mixture of light wind conditions and soaring conditions making this an ideal time for pilots of all skill levels” and would like to stress that while the emphasis of the event is a celebration of female flyers, all pilots, regardless of gender, are welcome. The festival is immediately followed by the Team Challenge (www.treetoppers.org ), so you could take advantage of both events!
Planned activities include fun flying tasks, mountain flying, aerotowing, seminars with world class pilots, reduced priced training, reduced priced tandem flights, live music, open mike night, silent auction, food, drink, and festivities.
