Airwave late summer successes

Airwave have had a sweep of late summer successes with pilots on their FR5, Speedmachine and Magic5 paragliders and would like to congratulate these pilots.
Italian Nicole Fedele broke the female out and return world record twice this year on her Magic 5, making 129.4 km on 19 July and then furthering it to 164 km with a flight from Sorica, Slovenia, on that magical date, 19 August, the same date that Mt Blanc was top-landed. Nicole actually continued out a little further than Sorica after her August flight to Piombada, and returned to land there next to her friends who had cold beer waiting, after 175 km.
Adrian Thomas has been showing off the FR5 to good effect. The first competition it was entered in, it won: Adrian is now the 2009 British Champion. Adrian said of his victory, “Winning the British Chapionships became so much easier when I received the FR5 because I found that I could out climb and out glide all my competitors“

The run of success extended to their Speed Machine, which won the paragliding races in both the Red Bull Dolomite man and the Bregenzerwald Outdoor Trophy 2009 under the skilled piloting of Italian Markus Prantl.The Speed Machine was designed three years ago by Bruce Goldsmith for just such events.
