Kym Fielke wins Nova Photo and Video Competition 2009

'And the cliffs marched on'. Kym Fielke
The winner of Nova’s Media Contest 2009 was announced at the Free Flight festival, Tegelberg, last weekend.
Australian Kym Fielke’s image of a paraglider soaring cliffs in Myponga, South Australia, was voted the best of 474 photos that were submitted, winning him a Nova wing of his choice.
In second place was Michi Feldmann’s depiction of two pilots ‘just having fun’ on Lanzarote.

'Catch me if you can'. Michi Feldmann
Steve Nash’s video from the 2008 Hike and Fly event he runs in Snowdonia, won third place.
In all, fifteen prizes were awarded, with the Jury Special award going to this film from Ramlan Hamid. Leading ‘actor’ was John Campen, demonstrating advanced paragliding manoeuvres without ever leaving the launch at Maninjau, Sumatra. The jury of five loved it, but the lack of a starring Nova wing prevented it from winning a prize in the overall listings.
