Lucas Ridley’s winning hang gliding film
Hang glider pilot and budding young filmmaker Lucas Ridley’s 60 second film, ‘Life is my Adventure’, won the Grand Prize of $42,500 in the Hewlett Packard ‘You on You’ YouTube competition.
Short-film makers were invited to create an original film, expressing themselves without showing their faces.
Lucas said at the time of winning: “This contest came at the perfect time in my life. I took a risk by putting my career on hold to pursue a passion for video making and by winning the You on You project, my creative skills are getting the recognition I only dreamed of.â€

Lucas’s blog entry about receiving the giant cheque said: “I pretty much went straight to the bank as soon as FedEx dropped this off. Again a huge ‘thank you’ to everyone for their votes.â€
