Into the Sky: Francois Isoard’s film of hang glider record-hunting in Namibia
French hang glider pilot and cameraman Francois Isoard has made a film of the December 2008 Namibian hang glider record-hunting expedition. Described by Francois as “the adventure of 15 hang gliding fanatics in Namibia”, it comprises “the portraits of pilots explaining their passion for hang gliding” and “feelings, emotions … that go far beyond the sport”.
The 71-minute film won two awards at the 2009 Coupe Icare (the award for documentary film and the public award). It is in French, but now has English subtitles.
