Axis Para Vega III cross country paraglider

Axis Para have been working on a new cross country paraglider. Now the Vega III is almost ready, and is expected to achieve EN C certification.

Axis say their philosophy in glider design with all of their models is that comfort in flight is more important than out-and-out performance, so they havn’t pushed the aspect ratio, but have concentrated on producing a cross country glider that pilots feel secure on wherever they fly, in whatever conditions.

Axis say the Vega III’s handling is intuitive and comfortable, with precise feedback through the brakes and risers. They have given it reduced roll characteristics, which means it turns flatter and benefits from improved thermalling and glide efficiency. They have also used ball bearing pulleys on the speed bar to make it smooth and easy to use.

Total line length has also been reduced, the lines being a mixture of  unsheathed Liros Dyneema and Cousin Vectraline in the upper cascades for minimum drag, with durable sheathed Dyneema lowers.
