Sol safety notice regarding back protectors in three of their paraglider harnesses
Sol have issued a safety notice concerning the way the foam back protector has been fitted in three of their harness models.
If attached wrongly, see diagram below, the back protector can slide up on impact and offer little or no lower back protection.
Sol paraglider harness back protectors - incorrect and correct fittings
The models affected are the Flex Virtue DHV GS-03-0353-07, Flex Amazon DHV GS-03-0363-07 and Flex Easy 2 DHV GS-03-0364-07.
Owners of harnesses with incorrect velcro attachment placements are requested to contact the manufacturer or importer. Sol Sports has prepared a kit which secures the protector correctly as in picture 1. The kit and assembly instructions will be sent free of charge on demand to harness owners and can be mounted by pilots themselves.
The kit should be applied before the harness is used for further flying.
