Have hours of Hi-Def footage but nothing to do with it? Now you do.
Enter the Cross Country magazine short-film competition, XC360, and you might WIN a Sup’Air Evo XC 2 harness worth £500 / €600 / $725.
XC360 is the new short-film competition from Cross Country magazine, the world’s best magazine dedicated to paragliding and hang gliding. Known for two decades for its high quality photography this is the first time the magazine has launched a search for free-flight filmmakers.
The competition is aimed at uncovering new talent and showcasing the best of what our sport has to offer. Run through Cross Country magazine’s Facebook page, the overall winner will be the one that gets the most votes from the legions of paragliding and hang gliding fans out there.
“Whether it’s 180 seconds of acro madness, a three-minute flight through the clouds, or a hymn to the beauty of our sport, we’re looking for action, passion, colour, excitement and inspiration,” said Bob Drury, Cross Country’s exec editor.
“We want our jaws to hit the floor and our hearts to race. We expect to see some awesome footage!”
The rules are simple: films must be less than three-minutes long; they must be original; they must be made this year; and they have to be uploaded to our Facebook site before 31 August 2010.
Anyone can enter and anyone can vote. For the rules, see below. Then get your camera and go flying.
CATEGORIES
There are two categories. The People’s Prize: the Evo XC 2 harness, will be awarded to whoever gets the most votes on Facebook.
A separate, discretionary Editor’s Mystery Prize will go to the film that makes the Cross Country team’s jaws drop the furthest.
PLUS: there’ll be runner up prizes for the next 10 films.
PRIZES
Top prize will be a Sup’Air Evo XC 2 harness worth £500 / €600 /$725. Runner up prizes will include gift vouchers from www.xcshop.com, Cross Country magazine subscriptions, XCmag wallets, Cross Country caps and T-shirts and paragliding goody bags. Plus all the glory you can handle!
