Gravity never sleeps at the International Alpine Film Festival
Top paragliding film, Gravity Never Sleeps, has been shortlisted for an award at FIFAD (the International Alpine Film Festival) in Les Diablerets from 7 – 14 August 2010.
The 52-minute-long film is a paragliding acro and XC journey which takes five friends on a flying trip around the world from their home in Gruyère, Switzerland, to New Zealand, Morocco, Patagonia, Argentina and Mexico.
Gravity Never Sleeps begins high above the plains of the country in a hot air balloon where you are pitched headfirst from the basket in a rollover dive, before throwing you into some of the best intro graphics you’ll ever see in a paragliding movie – the work of Baptiste Cochard, they are Hollywood in a Monty Python-esque way!
Over the next 52-minutes the film whisks us on a beautifully shot aerial tour of some of the most amazing places to fly in the planet, blending itself with revealing insights into the characters themselves.
The locations are fantastic and the standard of production superb, and if you are interested in flying in any of these places you’d do well to get a copy of Gravity Never Sleeps to immerse yourself in prior to your trip. If you just need to sit back and revel in a great flying film then Gravity Never Sleeps will do you proud and remind you of exactly why you fly.
But does Gravity Never Sleeps surpass Never Ending Thermal? It’s certainly a close run thing. Gravity Never Sleeps has already picked up one film festival award in 2010 and been profiled in several magazines, so expect great things from it in 2010.
