Team Argon wins best film at the Nissan Outdoor Games 2010

Team Argon have won the Golden Peak Award at the Nissan Outdoor Games 2010 with their film, Incantantio. Its main character is a supernatural being who uses his powers for evil causes to try to control forces of nature and their effect on humans. He wants to leave his mark on humanity before leaving this world, but in the end humans prevail.

The main character in the film, Johannes Haberl (AT), was also the team’s composer and singer, and created the impressive music during the week on site in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc.

Stefano De Bendetti, president of the jury, said of the film: “In filmmaking, the most difficult thing to do is to communicate a message. For us as the jury, Argon conveyed more emotion than the others. The crescendo, the rhythm of the film was excellent. And of course the overall coherence that is necessary for a good production. The music, post production, scenario, high mountain settings were highly appreciated. In a normal situation it would take weeks or even months to do such work,”

The award for the best action sequence went to Finnish Team Golgoht for the mountain bike sequence where Finnish biker Juha-Matti Pouta does a massive jump off the ski jump ramp. Golgoht’s film can be seen below.

Tristan Shu from the French team, Oseven, was named best stills photographer, his selection of ten stills images described as “simple and elegant but above all consistent with amazing photos in every discipline” by Swiss jury member and professional outdoor photographer Christophe Margot.
