Swiss paragliding firm Advance have announced that they will be forming an international team of serial class competition pilots whom they will mentor and coach, hopefully to the top of the serial class rankings.
Pilots interested in being considered for the team should apply by 30 December 2010, via the form on Advance’s website.
The Swiss company are trying to bridge what they feel is an ever-widening gulf between high-end competition prototypes, and serial class paragliders. Whilst they will still have their factory team pushing the boundaries of the open-class racers, they want to help talented pilots to the top of the serial class cross country contests.
Up-and-coming pilots who join the new team will benefit from Advance’s Knowhow Record Camp, where XContest winner Thomas Koster, World Champion Andy Aebi, X-Alps winner Chrigel Maurer and Advance Competition Team coach Kari Eisenhut will pass on their skills, experience and knowledge.
In addition, team members will be sponsored to the tune of a complete set of kit, including an Advance serial class wing in team colours, at the team package price. There will also be awards for cross country achievement and media work.
