The 20th Stubai Cup and Testival kicks off the 2011 Alpine paragliding season from 18 – 20 March.
Based in the Stubital valley in Austria’s Tyrol, not far from Innsbruck, the event is hosted by Parafly school and the Alps paragliding centre. The event headquarters and trade tents will be in the landing field for the Elfer flying site (1,750M). Pilots can borrow equipment to test, hop on the lift to takeoff, and then land back at base again.
A host of paraglider manufacturers will be present, with paragliders and harnesses for testing and special start-of-season sale offers. You can also check out the latest accessories – clothing, helmets and instruments – all will be available.
The Stubai Fun Cup is also a major part of the weekend. A paragliding competition with €5,000 worth of prizes, all pilots who take part are also entered into a prize draw whose top prize is an A or B category paraglider from any of the manufacturers present. Other draw prizes include paragliding holidays, equipment and clothing.
In addition, the first round of the paragliding Accuracy World Cup will take place at Stubai over the weekend.
