German company Skyline, in collaboration with French acro ace Richard Gallon, have developed a freestyle and acro paraglider, the Buzzard.
The company say it is built to withstand the rigours of acro, and trimmed for the professional acro pilot to be able to perform all the manoeuvres, including infinity tumbling.
The Buzzard is available in three sizes: 17, 21 and 23m. The larger sizes are suitable for beginners to the world of freestyle / acro, and the smaller sizes are for skilled acro pilots. Pilot weight also has to be taken into account. The chart below should help you decide which size is right for you:
size | 17 | 21 | 23 |
Beginner (<3 years acro experience) | X | <90kg | <125kg |
Intermediate (>3 years) | <70 kg | <110kg | <125 kg |
Professional (>5 years) | <110kg | <125 kg | <125 kg |
starting weight=total equiped incl. harness and glider |
