Skywalk’s Cult-C is an airbag harness which offers full pre-flight protection, conforming to the new LTF09 standard.
The DHV recently reported that airbag harnesses generally require forward movement to inflate the air bag, meaning that before launch and immediately after they do not offer full protection, and sometimes very little.
Skywalk’s Cult-C has been specially designed to deal with this problem. It uses a combination of foam under the seat, and an airbag with rigid foil elements and torsion slats in the back to ensure it is “almost 100%” inflated before launch.
This means the Cult-C offers the protection of a full foam protector, but with the low weight and compactness of an airbag system. The XS size is only 3.2kg (there are four sizes).
The same DHV report pointed out the increased likelihood of damaging the air bag on a reversible harness, and Skywalk have deliberately not gone down the road of a reversible piece in order to avoid this problem.
Closure-wise, the Cult-C uses Skywalk’s two-strap Get-Up system.
