Registration is open for the XC-Open to be held in Portugal from 27 August. – 3 September.
The competition will take place on two sites, pilots moving from Linhares da Beira to Mirandela on 31 August.
To encourage young pilots, there is a reduced entry fee of €99 for under-28s. The full fee is €130 Euros before June 26, €160 after.
The entry fee includes all transport, including to and from Oporto or Lisboa airports, transport to launch and retrieves, plus packed lunches and cultural trips if there are any non-flyable days.
Camping for XC-Open pilots during the competition is free, or there are lists of alternative, inexpensive accommodation at the two locations here and here.
Organisers say the area has potential for some very big cross country distances, with records for Serra da Estrela take-offs being over 250km.
