Rodolfo Gotes won the Panamerican Hang Gliding Championships held in Tapalpa Jalisco, Mexico at the start of May. The comp had five good tasks of 68km, 78km, 74km, 69km and 71km over a week of flying from 1-7 May.
Cross Country’s video correspondent Herminio Cordido was on hand to capture the mood in this four-minute film.
The competition is the only FAI Cat 2 hang gliding comp to be held in Mexico this year and was organised by the Cool Arrows hang gliding club.

The club, based in Guadalajara, was founded with the specific aim of organising competitions – its ultimate goal is to bring the Hang Gliding World Championships to Mexico.
Last year’s winner Rodrigo de Obeso was second while David Segura came in third.
