The Excite 3 is a sport and competition harness from Sky, with a detachable speed bag (sold as an optional extra).
It is a development of the Excite 2, but has a modified geometry and strap system to make it more comfortable, better back support and an improved speed system. It is also 0.5kg lighter than the Excite 2, at just under 5kg for the version without the speed bag and cockpit, 6kg with. This makes it, Sky claim, the lightest competition harness on the market.
Safety features include 12cm foam protection and Sky’s safety strap system, plus an underseat reserve container with several flaps to ensure an unhindered deployment, should it be necessary.
The company sent out a press release at the beginning of May to say the Excite 3 has passed LTF crash tests, and on their technical data it says it is EN 1651 tested, though it does not yet appear on the FAI’s list of accepted harnesses for category 1 competitions.
The Excite 3 is available in two sizes, M and L. See Sky’s website for details.
