Craig Morgan hangs on to an 11 point lead after the penultimate task of the Paragliding World Cup 2011 in Turkey
Turkey PWC
Day 6 task 4
More of the same ….
Forgive me if I am brief.
Today proved reasonably run of the mill. 77km task set and despite a couple of reserves which I don’t wish to make light of all seemed to proceed smoothly. I hope those that threw their reserves are ok.
As a result of my lofty overall placing yesterday I didn’t get much sleep as the mind games started to affect me. Several pilots intuitively knew where I was at during breakfast having been there themselves and I thank Raul Penso for his offer of powerful sleep inducing drugs ….
So today I played it real conservatively having known several good friends and top pilots ‘drop the ball’, whilst in a winning position, on the last day or two. Whether or not it served me well remains to be seen but word on the French street is that Jermie Larger leap frogged Drouin and me for 1st place and Stephan seems to think his 1 minute and 6 seconds will be enough to overhaul me too.
Either way – it’s all just paragliding and hopefully I’ll sleep well tonight now that the shackles of worry have been released. The task itself was, from my perspective, non eventful. However, it proved up once again Bayramoren’s big sky , big terrain credentials.
I’m off to bed now as I’m struggling to keep my eyes open and I need to devise a strategy for tomorrow.
“RAUL …………..”
Over and out.
[The results are now out and Craig is hanging on to a 11 point lead over Stephane Drouin who is only six points ahead of Jeremie Lager. When there’s 3,800 plus points been scored that’s a very very slim lead! Hang in their Craig. The XC Team is cheering you all the way!]
