AirCross’ new paraglider, the U Cross, has passed EN C certification in sizes S and M. Three further sizes (XS, L and XL) are to follow.
The company say the pure three-liner has ” class-leading performance paired with dynamic handling”.
The reduction in line consumption and the use of different diameter lines in different places have, they say, meant a massive 33% drag reduction compared to their previous model.
The U Cross uses ‘Gibus Arc,’ reinforcements, not only along the leading edge, but also at the B and C lines. This means special care is called for when packing the wing. Aircross recommend you use a concertina packing bag, and pack the glider as show in the video below:
The U Cross benefits from lighter-weight cloth than they have previously used on their EN B gliders, the S and M sized U Crosses weighing in at 6.3 and 6.5kg respectively.
Its aspect ratio, quoted in their documentation as being 6.1 is, the company say, the highest on any paraglider in the EN C category.
This model fills the gap in the company’s range between the EN B U fly and their EN D U Sport.
