Swing Hybrid Sport mini paraglider
The Hybrid Sport is a foot-launched, multi-purpose mini wing from Swing, who describe it as a ‘flying Go-Kart’.
It was designed to be used for hike and fly, strong-wind soaring, or simply as a descent method for mountain runners or walkers.
As such it is small and light, 3 and 3.5kg for the 15m and 17m sizes, and is a mixture of a speed wing – with direct handling and feedback allowing rapid turns – with the safety and soarability of a paraglider.
Swing say it has very good collapse and roll stability. It has no EN / LTF flight homologation, but is load tested (119kg with 8g) in the 15 and 17m sizes.
Constructionwise, the Hybrid Sport has a reinforced leading edge, short, durable Dyneema lines, and narrow risers with three line levels, The wing is accelerated using trimmers or a speed bar.
Four larger sizes, ranging from 19 to 26m, are to follow.
The Hybrid Sport costs €1650€.
