Gin Paragliders’ EN D competitor: the Boomerang X
The Boomerang X is Gin’s EN D paraglider, successor to the Boomerang GTO and a “true EN D, not a retrimmed competition wing”.Â
Gin say the outstanding feature of the Boomerang X is its unique planform which gives the wing excellent handling, security and climbing ability.
The aspect ratio is moderate, less than 7, but the company say its climb and glide performance at speeds of up to half-bar is
comparable to the previous generation of two-line Open Class wings.
There are currently 34 pilots flying the Boomerang X in the Paragliding World Cup Superfinal in Mexico, including leading woman Petra Slivova (CZ). You can follow their progress on the PWC website and the Gin Team Pilots’ blog.
The Boomerang X will be certified in a wide range of sizes. For now S, M and L are ready, catering for all-up weights from 90-125kg.
