AirDesign describe SuSi as a multi purpose paraglider – a small and SUper-SImple wing for strong-wind soaring, mountaineering and dynamic free-flying.
It’s small, but the company say it is not a speed wing or an acro wing: it has better glider performance than these, but enjoys being thrown around too.
SuSi is small and light, easy to launch but with good into-wind performance to reliably bring you back down after a day in the mountains.
AirDesign warn that SuSi is dynamic when flown fast, and pilots should be experienced and have good glider handling skills to control the wing during this style of flying.
The wing will be available in 16m2 (at 3.2kg) and 18m2 (3.5kg) versions, and will be load tested/shock tested to EN 926-1. No flying test certification is planned.
