On Sunday 19 August over 60 pilots toplanded Mont Blanc by paraglider, and lots more soared the summit and above.

    Awesome. There’s a handful of tracklogs on Leonardo too.

    So will this be “interdit” in future years? The news report video has a dire take on this sort of toplanding “wrecklessness”. Does it depend on which side of the summit face you land on? The Italian side isn’t restricted airspace, right?

    Encouraging a mass fly-in/fly-up makes more sense than banning it and having a few rebels unable to resist, and doing it anyway.

    Was no one on oxygen or radios?

    I wonder how many people tried but didn’t make it?
