The Kendal Mountain Festival in the Lake District, UK, starts on Thursday 15 November and kicks off with the now legendary Free Flight Night.
Featuring speakers and films from around the world of paragliding and hang gliding, Free Flight Night was the surprise hit of the last two Kendal Mountain Festivals, playing out to a packed house.
This year, to accommodate more pilots, the night has moved location: it’s now at Rheged in the Lake District. The visitor attraction features a massive cinema screen.
As in previous years the night will be hosted by Jocky Sanderson and will feature films and speakers. This year’s star speaker is Ozone boss Mike Cavanagh, one of the UK’s finest XC pilots.
Tickets cost £12.50 and are available through the website. Full details of the Kendal Mountain Festival are here. Along with the famous Banff festival, Kendal Mountain Festival is one of the biggest mountain film festivals in the world.
