Gin have released a front-mounted rescue for a cocoon harness. Called the Rescue Deck Race the set-up is designed for pilots who want to fly with a second reserve but who don’t want to shell out for a new twin-reserve harness.
The “innovative system” puts the reserve parachute right in front of you and opens your cocoon when you pull the handle. “Even in high G situations, your second rescue is always easy to reach with either hand,” said Gin.
The new product was announced shortly after CIVL said it would make flying with two reserves mandatory for pilots in Category 1 competitions from May 2014. Category 1 comps are World and Continental championships.
