Delorme have announced the new inReach SE satellite tracker and messenger.
Similar to the company’s inReach Smartphone device that we reviewed in issue 146 the new product adds direct messaging thanks to a built in touch screen.
Using the Iridium satellite network the inReach allows users to message friends when out of mobile phone coverage. The system also allows the user to be tracked via a personalised website, with the company offering special 1 sec interval tracking as an option for aviation users.
It is also possible to trigger an SOS call with two way communication with the rescue service. The inReach SE can be paired with a smartphone to add further functionality.
