Remko Bolt broke his ankle when he was caught out by rain during the Pre-PWC in Romania in August this year.

In the XC Files in Cross Country 149 Remko describes what happened and we look at what happens – and what can happen – if you do fly in the rain.

Then the rain really started to fall: I was surrounded by rain, sunlight and green trees – a beautiful sight.

Just before landing, I estimate 50m above the ground, I noticed my forward speed was suddenly gone. I realised I was in a deep stall.
