Organisers of Bornes to Fly, the three-day hike and fly race that takes place around Annecy have announced dates for 2014. The race will take place between from 2-4 May, and the course, which will be announced on the morning of the first day, will be between 100km and 250km.
The race requires competitors to carry all their flying gear throughout, but does allow for a supporter to help with logistics and weather forecasting. Competitors carry a live tracker and the racing stops at night.
In 2013 Red Bull X-Alps athlete Martin Muller and Victor Sebe took part, as well as an out-of-shape correspondent from the Cross Country team, proving that the event has something to offer all comers.
There are 70 spaces available and pilots interested in testing their flying and fitness while living the X-Alps experience for the weekend can apply at www.bornestofly.fr
