The second edition of the Bornes to Fly hike-and-fly race kicks off on Friday 2 May. It will see 56 pilots race against themselves, each other and the clock around the mountains near Annecy in France.
The race is similar in concept to the Red Bull X-Alps, but based over a long weekend and covering a much shorter distance. The course is set according to the forecast and will cover between 100km and 250km.
The event is broadcast online and through live tracking throughout the whole weekend. In the video above self-confessed “computer geek” Tom Payne introduces the concept and explains the new live tracking technology that will come into play.
