Little Cloud’s Spiruline GT and Spiruline EZ

Tuesday 15 April, 2014
Little Cloud's Spiruline GT

Little Cloud’s Spiruline GT

There are now GT and EZ versions of Little Cloud’s Spiruline miniwing: The GT is a little bit hotter, and The EZ is a little bit, well, easier:

The Spiruline GT, pictured above, the Gran Turismo version, has a slightly greater aspect ratio (4.5) than the 2012 Spiruline (4.3).

Little Cloud say the GT is pitch stable with precise and direct handling which makes it great fun to thermal.
A versatile wing with a high internal pressure, it’s collapse-resistant and great for soaring, cross country and hike and fly. And for playing, judging by this video:

The Spiruline GT is available in 20 and 21.6m2 sizes (65-85kg and 80-100kg), and weighs 3.7 or 3.9kg. Load-tested only.

The Spiruline EZ is an easy-to-fly, low-end EN B wing, which is ideal for training in schools, say the company, with a “big fun factor” for anyone.

It’s a bit bigger, at 24m2, with an aspect ratio of 4.3. Little Cloud say it combines the ease of use of a miniwing with the damping of a larger glider, has direct handling with good feedback through the brakes, and is less roll-aggressive than the Spiruline.

LC say the Spiruline EZ is made from robust materials, but it still weighs just 4.2kg.

The quoted trim speed is 39-40km/h for a 85-90kg pilot, and it has a speed bar but no trimmers.
