Gaëtan Heudeleine and Victor Sebe in full swing…
Cross Country magazine prize winners Lex Hagenbeek and Gaëtan Heudeleine had an “excellent” day on Thursday 17 July when they hooked up with the Sup’Air tandem team to go flying with the new Sup’Air Sora.
Lex was the lucky winner pulled out of the hat following a competition run in issue 153 of Cross Country magazine. Readers were given the chance to win a day’s tandem flying with Clement Latour and Victor Sebe on board Sup’Air’s first ever glider, the tandem Sora. Clement and Victor are two Red Bull X-Alps pilots who both work for Sup’Air.
The prize was a day out flying for the winner and a flying buddy with Team Sup’Air, including a tour of the Sup’Air HQ, an afternoon flying tandem with Clement and Victor, and of course some post-flight debrief beers after landing.
“It was an excellent day,” Lex said afterwards. “We got a warm welcome from the whole of the Sup’Air team, including Clement, Jean-Christophe and Victor, and two hours in the air with Clement.
“The flight was very nice and instructive, given the conditions being stable. I will for sure benefit from the time we spent in the air together.”
Sup’Air’s Jean-Christophe Skiera echoed that: “We managed to get the best out of the day in spite of less than perfect conditions. We started off with a tour of Sup’Air HQ, then lunch at Col de la Forclaz before the tandem flight. Later on we all flew off Semnoz in nice evening conditions and a few beers before breaking off.”
He added, “All I can say is that from our perspective the day was a real success. It was a pleasure to meet Lex and Gaëtan.”
Lex said, “This day will remain in my memory with a very positive feeling – and I guess as soon as my budget allows I will fly with a Delight 2 harness!”
Thanks to all those who entered the competition. More info on the Sup’Air Sora here.
