High Adventure Beamer 3 Small reserve parachute

Monday 20 October, 2014

Swiss manufacturer High Adventure have made a small Beamer 3 rescue parachute, which is certified to 90kg and with an extended weight limit of 100kg for experienced Rogallo users (risks of downplaning are greater if the main wing is still attached, for more heavily loaded reserves. The Beamer 3 Small is available in standard and lightweight (1230g, ideal for hike-and-fly) versions.

High Adventure test their reserve parachutres with the main glider still attached to ensure the best possible descent in the trickiest conditions. The video above shows Urs Haari doing just that.

The Beamer 3 is a steerable reserve, but High Adventure say if you don’t activate the brakes it will sink vertically at a just 3.7m/s for a 100kg load (EN and LTF confirmed).
