UP have announced a new ‘flagship’ EN C wing: The Trango XC3 will be ready from early 2015.
They say:
The Trango XC3 has inherited the user-friendliness of its predecessor, including the very efficient and confidence-inspiring handling and the EN D-like performance, but as with the previous model it is certified EN C and as such caters to a wide audience.
The design brief was simply to, “Keep everything as it is, but give it a higher top speed, and update the performance to 2015 levels and beyond”. UP say they are proud they have achieved this.
The Trango XC3’s aerofoil is similar to the Summit XC3 New Generation Aerofoil, but it has a higher aspect ratio to improve climbing in weak lift, and to enhance pilot feel. It will have an entirely new colour scheme, say UP, to be revealed soon.
