A team of German engineers and pilots have developed an electric winching system for paragliders and hang gliders that is capable of step towing “smoothly and efficiently” even in rough conditions.
The Molywinch is built by Molitor Antriebstechnik GmbH, and the team behind it say it is a powerful and reliable electric double drum winching system which requires virtually no maintenance.
It is able to tow both solo and tandem hang gliders and paragliders, and the team say that custom-made winching programs are available for it. Next year full automation and radio control should be available.
The winch is DHV certified.
