A serial version of Skywalk’s Range X-Alps lightweight pod harness is now on sale.
The super-lightweight pod harness used by 2015 Red Bull X-Alps pilots has been refined, and LTF certified to 100kg in two sizes.
The serial version weighs 960g ‘naked’ (excluding karabiners, back protector and cockpit), with the optional LTF-tested foam protector weighing 380g, bringing the total weight to about 1300g. The protector also makes a comfortable pillow on bivouac trips, say Skywalk.
The serial harness has an integrated under-seat reserve container and a rear fairing with plenty of storage space for multi-day bivouac trips. It has narrow adjustable straps and a fibreglass-reinforced seat and Skywalk say it’s a comfortable harness for long adventure flights.
