Free Flight Night at the Kendal Mountain Festival will feature a host of films from the famous Coupe Icare Film Festival in France this year, as well as a unique presentation from paragliding and hang gliding star and filmmaker Antoine Boisselier.
The festival, which takes place over four days in November in Kendal, UK is one of the only adventure film festivals in the world to feature a Free Flight Night. It showcases the best filmmaking from across the world of paragliding, hang gliding, speed flying, acro, wingsuit and BASE.
This year Free Flight Night has partnered with the Coupe Icare Festival in St Hilaire, France and will feature a specially curated selection of the best of the award-winning films from that famous festival.
Kendal Mountain Festival director Steve Scott was on the Jury at this year’s Coupe Icare, and has helped to select the films for Free Flight Night in Kendal. He said: “I’m very excited to be partners with the Coupe Icare this year. We’ll be showing the best free flying films in the world in Kendal.”
As well as the films, Antoine Boisselier will present film highlights from his incredible life in free flight. An expert in acro, speed riding, paragliding and hang gliding, he has represented his country at the highest level, and has set national records in cross country flying.
As well as being France’s national hang gliding champion 2014, he was second in the World Hang Gliding Championships in Mexico this year and has won France’s national distance competition several years in a row.
An incredible filmmaker dedicated to the art of capturing the amazing feel and diversity of our sports, he has worked across the world. His filmmaking credits include Alchimie, Combo Quest, Poor Man Heli, Le Nid and his latest Libre Commes L’Air. As an aerial cameraman for the Red Bull X-Alps 2015 he also worked to bring that incredible race to life this summer.
Antoine said: “I am super happy to be coming to the Free Flight Night in Kendal and am looking forward to it very much.”
Free Flight Night is sponsored by Ozone Paragliders, and hosted by Jocky Sanderson from Escape XC and Ed Ewing from Cross Country Magazine.
