Britain has launched a new dedicated racing academy for up-and-coming competition paraglider pilots.
Announcing the creation of the British Paragliding Racing Academy co-organiser Malin Lobb said the aim was to, “design and deliver a competition pilot development program, in order that the current British Team and the future British Team become a formidable force within the international paragliding circuit.”
Supported by the British Hang and Paragliding Association the academy will aim to enlist and train future world class paraglider pilots.
We are creating a program of learning and experiences in and around Europe to develop the skills necessary to win paragliding competitions. We will enlist the skills of our existing competition heroes and call on the guidance from world class paragliding professionals to deliver a first class track into top-level competition flying.
Malin added: “For 2016 we have SIV with Flyeo in Annecy, an Ozone Racing Bootcamp with Russ Ogden and Guy Anderson in Gemona (Italy) and, for the fortunate few, PWC mentoring at St Andre and Gemona. With that in mind, we call on the most passionate and dedicated of trainees.”
