On 7 May 2016, Ondrej Prochazka set out on a 2,000km hike-and-fly of the Alps. Travelling light, he has left the sleeping bag and tent at home, but won’t be sweating inside his wing every night. Ondrej will be Couchsurfing.
Ondrej intends to follow his planned route, which is a triangle starting and finishing near Innsbruck, and taking in Briançon and Ljubljana as turnpoints. He’ll be walking and paragliding in the day, and couchsurfing at night.
The Couchsurfing community are people from all over the world who have a spare room or sofa bed to lend for the night. Their slogan is:
You have friends all over the world, you just haven’t met them yet.
You can follow Ondrej’s progress on couchalps.com, and keep an eye on his Facebook page too, for photo and video updates. And if you fancy welcoming travellers to your sofa, or making use of someone else’s, check out couchsurfing.com.
