Ozone have replaced their slalom and classic competition PPG wing with the Viper 4.
It’s designed for advanced pilots only, and Ozone say that thanks to its three-line design, optimised unsheathed lines and new advanced profile it pushes efficiency and performance to higher levels.
They say it behaves like a free-flight wing in thermic conditions, with very progressive, intuitive handling and exceptional climb and glide performance.
It has a higher top speed than its predecessor, Ozone say, and is more stable throughout the speed range, making it very suitable for dynamic and pure slalom competition flying. It has updated risers with a built in PK system, a 2D steering system and additional pulleys to install a special steering system specifically designed for competition slalom flying.
The PK system directly connects the accelerator and trim systems which increases the top speed with more direct action, so the accelerator travel remains the same.
In the 2D steering system, the brake line and tip steering line (TST) are connected to the main brake handles. This system allows for complete control of the trailing edge, pulling only the tip lines (TST), only the centre of the trailing edge, or both together.
The Slalom steering system is for serious competition flying. Developed and tested by Alex Mateos for many years now, it is the only system which guarantees maximum safety during pure slalom flying.
Ozone say they have chosen to use lightweight fabric on the bottom surface to reduce the overall weight of the sail which improves handling, gives a greater feel in the air and offers easier inflation.
The Viper will be available in sizes 14 (special order for comp pilots only), 16, 18, 20, 22 and 24.
